The One Corner Dance And Sex-Crazed Nigerian Youths

If there is anything people loathe, it is that thing that threatens their sanity and those of others around them.

The year 2017 was sure a very good year with lots of energy injected into the entertainment industry that got people with a high rush of adrenaline in their lowest moments.

We were all feeling the vibes that came with most of the songs released last year by popular artistes both Nigerian and foreign until we had a spoiler alert that heralded the One Corner song.

That one corner dance literary stole people's sanity at the very sound of its beat.

The crux of it all was the moment it was played at a friend's wedding reception party and people even the ones that donned correct suits forgot their senses and found different corners in the hall to display what could pass as their sexual prowess, or how else would one explain the drama that comes with that song.

The bride's mum watched on in utter disappointment that we did not need a prophet to prophesy that all was not well right inside her head.

The wedding cake would have served as a perfect one corner 'apparatus' for the guests who were probably high on the wine served at the event.

I thought people had accepted the song and its craziness until someone suggested that the DJ played it at an even dominated by children.

The kids were in high spirits and had geared up to twist their tiny waists to the beat of the song when adults at the occasion raised a violent protest.

It became more interesting when thousands of Nigerians who condemned sex and sex education embraced the one corner dance like some prodigal son who just came home to mama.

No, it is not hypocrisy, Not at all! How can it possibly be when Nigerians are the most self-righteous across the globe.

The irony of watching a religious person dance to the beat of the one corner dance and condemn sex is funny.

Did you know that some people felt sexually aroused while dancing the famous one corner dance?

Some people even got and still get sexually stimulated either watching people do the one corner dance or while dancing it themselves.

I heard a pathetic tale of an innocent girl who got raped by one randy fellow whose manhood stood erect to hail the one corner dance while he danced along to the song.

So can we condemn the one corner dance in its entirety both the dancing and singing part instead of giving a selective condemnation.

Dear musicians, if what you intend to bring to the table this new year is something similar to the one corner dance, please kindly give it a second thought and save us all the trauma that comes with it.

Sincerely, we have had it up to the throat already.

We know what to do under the sheets if we want some sex and one corner dance isn't even anywhere close to an inspiration.
