How Popular Onitsha Businessman Was Murdered In Cold Blood While Separating Fight Between Okada Man And Ikanda Cultists

Palpable pandemonium broke out in the commercial city of Onitsha, Anambra State after a group known as Ikanda murdered a businessman in cold blood along Bida road in the ever busy Main market.
The deceased father of two identified as Ndubisi Nwokolo was stabbed by the thugs who are alleged loyalists of a certain Ikanda Udensi said to have been in and out of jail for six times.
A source close to the deceased who preferred anonymity told me that the sponsor of the cult group Ikanda who hails from Azia in Ihiala LGA of the state, is notorious in the vicinity and recently acquired a Hilux van with which he perpetrates his dastardly acts against innocent citizens.
Trouble started when the deceased tried to intervene in a royalty faceoff between the cultists and the Okadaman who was conveying him to his warehouse to pick some goods.
It was gathered that the bandits stabbed the Okadaman who luckily escaped with some injuries before they descended on the deceased and attacked him with broken bottles, knives and other weapons they laid their hands.
The victim was abandoned in the pool of his own blood before he breathed his last.



Friends and relatives of the deceased have described him as a quiet man and a peacemaker who was gentle to the core and called on the government to investigate his death and ensure that justice prevails against the cultists and their alleged sponsor.
Meanwhile, angry traders closed down shops at the Onitsha main market to protest the death of their colleague who most of them described as gentle to the core and never associated himself with trouble.
Even though normalcy has been restored in the area, the bereaved family and friends of the deceased had yet to get over the shock from the tragic news.

This is one among several other cases of death records credited to the notorious Ikanda gang members.
