Donkey Years Later...

It feels so good to activate my blog again after what seems like donkey years. What really happened? you may ask. Life happened! Not in a bad way, anyway—but you know what being an adult in Nigeria feels like, right?

Well, let's just say that I AM BACK to my first love, and it feels so satisfying to return here to document my thoughts and journey—because girl, they are truly wild!

So, what’s new? I gained experiences, upskilled, diversified, got married, and now I have a daughter who is the spitting image of me. Who would have thought a child could take after her mum in every way—including her dentition and the way she smiles?

And oh! I gained the Midas touch too. Who knew that gold could taste like shawarma and puff puff which I now make effortlessly from the comfort of my home? Because, tell me, what is life without some spicy balls of puff puff?

Just know that I’ve added a lot more to my life and grown into a better version of myself than I was five years ago.

Facebook Accidentally Unblocks People From Its 800,000 Users' Blocked List

While it had yet to recover from the data privacy scandal, Facebook has been hit with yet another mess. In the latest accident, social networking company has informed its 800,000 users about a bug that caused the company system to unblock some of the people they have previously blocked. The bug wreaked havoc on both the Facebook web page and Messenger app. By implication, the blocked people could now see the profiles of the users’ again and contact them by sending a friend request or a message.  “Starting today, we are notifying over 800,000 users about a bug in Facebook and Messenger that unblocked some people they had blocked. Life ought to be quite interesting. But sometimes, people try to make a fuss out of a bunch of things and it makes life seem uninteresting. People make rules on how one should dress, more like the way the society expects you to dress rather than allowing people to wear what they are comfortable in. You wear long dresses and you get to be tagged 'too religious' and then you wear shorter ones and get called a 'slut' and all sorts of derogatory terms. If you wear fashion accessories, the society would see you as one who is too vain and when you decide to ditch them they would see you as one whose fashion sense is suffering a serious kwashiorkor. In all of these, I have learnt not to be drowned out by what people say or how they feel about what I do and what I don't.
